Welcome
to NCGR's E-Calendar Around
the World with NCGR!
We've come to a quiet time of year for
scheduling events due to the holiday season.
The announcements will increase in January.
In the meantime, there is plenty to look
over in the Calendar.
Feel free to
forward Around
the World with NCGR to anyone you
think is interested in receiving it. A
link to update your information is located at
the end of this page.
We
would love to hear about events going on in
your country and your community.
Around
the World with NCGR accepts all
announcements for events that are (1) focused
on astrology and (2) sponsored by a non-profit
organization. However, the publication is not
an advertising venue; listings of astrology
classes or lectures by individuals will not be
accepted, nor will psychics, feng shui
experts, palm or tarot readers, etc., fine as
those practices are. Submissions to Around
the World with NCGR should be sent to execsec@geocosmic.org --
preferably as a Word document.
Liane
Thomas Wade
NCGR
Executive Secretary,
P.S.
If you choose not to receive Around
the World with NCGR again, hit the
"opt out" link at the top of this
page.

Announcement -- Due to the
fact that at least one of the sponsoring
organizations delayed the release of their
journal until the Regulus Ballots were
completed, and due to the fact that this
delay could cause members of some sponsoring
organizations (including AFAN) to receive
their journals and newsletters after the
Dec. 1 discount rate cutoff date, UAC
has decided that the special Dec. 1 discount
rates will be extended until December 31.

Kitty Hatcher's Home, Cost $45 members and $65
non-members; info: Phone: 410-323-0866, E-mail: Lyman409@yahoo.com
In an effort to display planetary declinations
within the chart in the same way planets' longitudes
have been displayed, Helmut has devised a system
which he calls the Vertical Zodiac (VZ). It displays
the planetary declinations in the same way the
regular planets have been displayed, in terms of
zodiacal longitude. In the Vertical Zodiac we
have at our disposal all the conventional aspects
between the declination planets and also between
declination planets and regular planets. Declination
planets can be progressed using the same method as
progressing regular planets! The Vertical
Zodiac and Planet Specific Vertical Zodiac are new
astrological territory, open for anyone to explore
and experiment with. Helmut has given us an exciting
time to work jointly with him to give this system a
try. Helmut Licht has studied astrology since 1963
and is certified by the Mayo School of Astrology in
London, the brotherhood of Light, and has passed the
professional exam of the AFA. He is the
current Baltimore NCGR Educational Director and has
created and maintains the Baltimore NCGR website.

as our relationship with foreign governments.
This will be one of the most informative and
exciting lectures of the year. Brendan is an
internationally recognized author, speaker, teacher
and consultant in Vedic Astrology. He is a faculty
member of Sri Jagannanth Center - USA & India,
an organization dedicated to the promotion and
education of this ancient science, and he is also a

The Asteroids - Juno, Ceres,
Pallas & Vesta
Over a number of years Laura Nalbandian
has been working with these wonderful and
very rich Asteroids through myth, story, and
personal journey. In this workshop, we'll
explore these myths and archetypes and discover
how they can apply and become a part of your
astrological repertoire. Although
Laura is of the philosophy that less is more,
and tends not to clutter the chart, she
has found that these Goddesses represent
powerful themes that are not articulated in the
basic natal chart. Participants are invited
to bring their own chart along on this
mythical journey. If you would like to use
your chart as an example during the workshop,
please email Laura with your birthdata: laurag@astrologyetal.com.

extending this offer at this time because we are
ushering astrology into a state where there are more
cows than people, let alone astrologers! Our plan
this year is to bring astrological AWARENESS to this

After an informal polling, we concluded that these

Smart, Michigan
SMART
(Southeast Michigan Astrologers' Round Table), is
the former ASGOWC (Astrology Study Group of
Washtenaw County), and is now a proud chapter of
NCGR. This group of astrology students and
professionals have been meeting since 1994, and
use their association for networking, engaging
speakers, and discussing matters of concern and
interest to astrologers.
SMART
established the "Astrologers and
Friends" weekly get-together at Cafe Luwak in
2006. This fall they'll gather at the Cafe from
6:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursdays (except October
25th and November 22nd) in order to trade readings
with one another or offer mini-readings to the
general public. They'd like to include other
practitioners of the divinatory arts, such as
psychics, numerologists, clairvoyants, or tarot
card, palm, tea leaf, or runes readers, or
body/energy workers, and invite them to join these
gatherings. This is a welcoming environment to
connect with like-minded others, in small and
large groups, and enjoy stimulating conversations
about metaphysical matters. Cost, if any, will
vary.

The Shaman's Soul Astrology - featuring Mary
Novak
Clients
come to most Astrologers seeking clarity and
information. Yet sometimes they are in deeper
cycles of karmic release, and the changes
occurring within feel like chaos or periods of
loss and regret. When we work with such
personal transformational deaths and rebirths
at these times, we can assist clients to begin
to focus closer to the nature of their 'Soul
Emotional Body' rather than their mind's or
physical body's realities. This basic lecture
covers transformation, some non-ordinary
doorways, and principles to cross from a South
Node reality into North Node dream.
This
meeting will conclude with our annual Holiday
Party and distribution of books from the
annual Book Sale. Please bring something yummy
to add to the holiday table.

A
one-day workshop with Bernadette Brady

23 February 2008
10.30
- 16.30
Venue:
Theosophical Society, 50 Gloucester Place, London
WIU 8EA
Nearest
tube: Baker Street or Marble Arch
Bernadette
Brady is author of Predictive
Astrology - The Eagle and the Lark, Brady's Book
of Fixed Stars and
Astrology - A Place in Chaos, and winner of
the Charles Harvey award in 2006. We were
delighted when Bernadette agreed to run our highly
popular inaugural workshop on predictive
techniques last year, and we're equally delighted
to welcome her back to develop this theme further,
with a workshop in February 2008.
Since
writing The
Eagle and the Lark, Bernadette has added a
number of medieval techniques into her predictive
work, which has greatly enhanced her predictive
astrology. This workshop will focus on introducing
Fidaria (planetary periods), directing by
Triplicity (a life overview tool) and a medieval
approach to solar returns which uses Profections.
Bring along your own chart and solar return -
handouts and notes will be provided to aid the
learning experience.
